Why is it that when we are having great moments of love, joy and fun in our life we sometimes don’t realize how wonderful and special they really are, until we look back at them from some time in the future.
I am beginning to understand that it is important to pause briefly in times of great love and joy and ‘soak it in’. Remind ourselves how wonderful these moments truly are. Breathe it in, absorb it, thank the universe for this gift. Thank yourself for having the capacity to experience these wonderful feelings of love, joy and laughter. Be thankful for the amazing partner that is now present in your life, the beautiful imperfect human being that is doing his or her best right now. Be thankful for the love that they are expressing to you in their own way. Be thankful for the spirit and energy that they bring to you. Be thankful that you can see their beautiful face and hear their joyful laughter right now. Be thankful that you can feel the softness of their skin. Be thankful that they are alive and have chosen to spend this moment in time with you.
A wonderful book that has assisted me greatly is “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. His words were the first to help me understand what being present in the now moment is all about. I found it so helpful to be reminded not to live in the past or in the future but just be aware of where I am right now and to enjoy this current moment for what it is. For that is where peace, joy and great love is found.
My picture this week, while driving around town, is a good reminder to give to others what you have to offer right now ……
“So it is essential to bring more consciousness into your life in ordinary situations when everything is going relatively smoothly. In this way you grow in presence power.”
– Eckhart Tolle
This week’s blog is dedicated to my friend Neal Raffler who filled the room with joy and laughter everywhere he went. You will be greatly missed.
