For some people it’s easy to give Love but they have a much more challenging time receiving Love. For others they have no problem receiving Love but allow things to get in the way of giving Love. It’s important to be aware of your own give and take around the topic of Love. I do my best to create a balance.
I know of some people who keep a tally, they keep score. That is not real Love. With Great Love you simply give Love because you want to, because it makes you feel so good. And the easiest way to receive Love is just to be open without expectations as to how or when Love will show up. I received the best and most wonderful Valentine’s Day surprise yesterday because I did not have any expectations for the day and what it should look like. I was just open to allowing the day to unfold and it was better than I could have ever imagined! I still have a huge smile on my face!!!
It’s important to make space for Love in your life. It’s important to open your heart to receive Love. In order to do that some level of vulnerability needs to be present. We must allow ourselves to be Loved. When we shut down or close off and put up an emotional wall, nothing can penetrate that. If it happens to you, you may choose to ask yourself what am I afraid of? And is this fear real or imagined? If it happens to someone you Love, simply Love them anyway and allow them the space to feel safe again to come out from behind their wall. It takes courage to remain present and open to Love. The rewards however, are greater than you can possibly imagine.
This week I encourage you to be open to receiving Love. Can you open your heart, even just a little bit to allow the space for Great Love to enter?
My picture this week was taken in the grocery store. It’s so nice to have these reminders around us! I vote for items of Love to be available to us all year round so we can give them whenever we want to, not just when the calendar says we have to.
