What does the word honest mean? Here are a couple of dictionary definitions – Morally Upright, Truthful or True, Reasonable, Unpretentious, Respectable. When it comes to Love and learning how to Create Great Love being honest is a top priority. I encourage you to do some soul searching about the type of relationship you want, first being honest with yourself. What do you want in a relationship? What does a good relationship look like to you? These are truly important questions to answer for yourself. You might not have all the details but you can contemplate broader thoughts and feelings. One of the first things on my list is EASE. I want my love relationship to be EASY and COMFORTABLE – for both of us. I want a relationship that is honest and real. Passionate and alive. Expansive, fun and exciting. Certain and secure. Full and delicious!
I think the reason people choose to be out of integrity in their relationships is because they are searching for something outside of themselves. They are madly trying to fill up some need or space that is unfulfilled within themselves. In my opinion it is up to us individually to be responsible for our own fulfillment, we cannot expect anyone else to do that for us.
Being honest takes courage. It might mean having an uncomfortable conversation but one you know you need to have. It might mean you have to get very clear and focus only on what you want in your relationships and not giving attention to the things that you don’t like. One thing that is so magical about this new world that we now live in, is if something is out of integrity it will be revealed very quickly because anything that is not based in pure Love can no longer remain hidden. That is such a comforting thought because it means that no matter what TRUE LOVE ALWAYS FINDS A WAY.
I encourage you this week to take some quiet time, being gentle and honest with yourself about what you want in a great relationship. Make some notes, write it down. Get some clarity for yourself.
My picture this week is a sweet reminder that Great Love is a work of art and it’s meant to be truly delicious!!!
